Key encounters with Paul Badura-Skoda, Charles Rosen and Malcolm Bilson have marked the career of Florent Albrecht, who received support from the Royaumont Foundation in 2018. To these illustrious mentors, he owes his exemplary musical rigour and remarkable sensitivity – qualities he displays just as effectively at his beloved keyboard as he does at the helm of L’Encyclopédie, an ensemble specialising in period instruments that is set to redefine the interpretation of Classical and early Romantic music on period instruments.

Having trained later in life at the Geneva University of Music, from which he graduated top of his year, Florent Albrecht approaches his musical career with a unique maturity, shaped by his earlier career in the luxury goods and cultural administration sectors.
A curious and committed musician, he collaborates with exceptional partners such as Giuliano Carmignola, Christophe Coin, Amandine Beyer, Jodie Devos, Sophie Karthäuser and Anna Reinhold, as well as conductors Chiara Banchini, Alexis Kossenko and Václav Luks. He is regularly invited to perform with prestigious ensembles, including the Orchestre National de France, Les Talens Lyriques and Les Ambassadeurs – La Grande Écurie.

A soloist and chamber musician – a field he is particularly fond of – Florent Albrecht has performed at major international venues, including the Barbican Centre in London, the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Munich Philharmonie, the Juilliard School in New York, the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, the Philharmonie and the Opéra de Paris, and the Victoria Hall in Geneva, amongst others. He also takes part in numerous renowned festivals, such as the Chopin Festival in Nohant, the Festival du Parc Floral, Bach en Combrailles and Arques-la-Bataille.

In late 2020, he founded the ensemble L’Encyclopédie in Geneva, dedicated to exploring the repertoire of the Enlightenment and the Pre-Romantic period, adopting a historically informed approach that is both rigorous and inventive. The ensemble is based in France and will begin a residency at L’Arsenal-Cité musicale in Metz from September 2026.

His first two recordings, devoted to John Field and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, were acclaimed by the critics. In 2025, he joined the harmonia mundi label; his first album, devoted to the music of Wolfgang and Leopold Mozart and entitled Kindermusik, was released in the autumn of 2025 and received unanimous acclaim from international critics. His next recording, due in September 26, is an album featuring famous concertos for pianoforte and orchestra by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Muzio Clementi, on which Florent performs as the soloist on his instrument.
